Looks like another week of freezing weather ahead and I'm starting to go a bit stir crazy. I really want to get on with the orchard and all the apple and pear trees that need pruning. Having finished the jumper I'm in danger of having a shiny clean house and that just won't do!
In the meantime here's a few photos taken of the 'weather'.
Freckles yesterday before it snowed again. It's unusual for her to walk on the ice but she'd found a swimming hole up the far end where the stream comes in and when I went up there to have a nosy I disturbed a mallard drake who she'd obviously been having a bit of fun with. Then she decided to come back and take a short cut across the ice. Didn't even slip!
And this is what we woke up to this morning. That's not blue sky - it was very grey but this is early before I went out and messed it up with my footprints. The photos are taken from my 2nd floor from the only window that looks out over the back garden.
Looking right towards veg patch, barn and chook and duck sheds. It's not impressive as snow goes but we've rarely had deep snow here. Thank god!
Looking to the left towards the lake.
It's melted quite a lot now and I hope we don't get any more!
Freckles is much braver than I am. But, that's because I fall every year on the ice. LOL
ReplyDeleteAh, snow - the atmospheric proof that it's okay to be cold. Unlike here in Germany where it's -12 C and we have no pretty snow to show for this misreable weather. BOO! LOL
I hate ice! I was wary going outside this morning as it rained last night and now it has frozen, but it's not too bad!
