It's really exciting this first year growing citrus to watch what happens, and I'm really pleased we have some fruit that formed (lots dropped off when tiny).

I'm now surrounded by bees and a few hoverflies whilst watering all the plants! Bees seem to have discovered the Bidens now which is great. There have been a few small butterflies as well, but whatever they are they are too flitty to ID.

Guessing from the last comment that Cirl Buntings are around in Devon?Millymollymandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12990749863025598526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4547505703081839636.post-47841703164024075352021-08-25T15:31:15.946+02:002021-08-25T15:31:15.946+02:00Hi Diana, you made me think about that - so I'...Hi Diana, you made me think about that - so I've moved the smaller pots behind the bigger ones, or behind the columns so they are not getting as many hours of sun. They will be fine in full sun all day once their roots are under the ground. :-)Millymollymandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12990749863025598526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4547505703081839636.post-64316043412244589622021-08-25T15:30:06.935+02:002021-08-25T15:30:06.935+02:00Thanks very much for the lovely comment, Marianne!...Thanks very much for the lovely comment, Marianne! Luckily only one copy of your comment :-)

Yes, Ive seen your videos of your hungry critters up around your patio area and in your gardens, so I can understand. Worth it having Javelina on your patio though!!Millymollymandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12990749863025598526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4547505703081839636.post-24452626497684856832021-08-25T15:28:10.711+02:002021-08-25T15:28:10.711+02:00Hi Trev - Thanks so much for commenting so regular...Hi Trev - Thanks so much for commenting so regularly! I can well imagine what your retirement home garden would be like - but H's would be somewhat different (like a similar size to what you have now) lol!!! Have used the new camera a few times but K has taken it over. I need to read up what all the new buttons are as it's a bit of a mystery compared to the previous dslr!Millymollymandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12990749863025598526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4547505703081839636.post-22477595207599401842021-08-24T21:56:33.745+02:002021-08-24T21:56:33.745+02:00Those pots must get hot while the plants wait on t...Those pots must get hot while the plants wait on the patio. It must be lovely to have lemons and limes :) The pool looks inviting when its hot!! :)

We got rid of our veg and fruit plot some years ago and I do miss it. But we do grow some fruit and vegetables in pots on the patio and in the greenhouse and in one small border.

The nectar plants are a great selection. Flowering herbs do really well here for attracting pollinators.

I've never seen a Cirl Bunting although we did try in Devon. Too challenging here because of hungry 4 legged creatures. It's difficult for me to say to be angry with the rabbits and the Javelina though :-)Mariannehttp://wildflowersandmore.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4547505703081839636.post-32304815808409882272021-08-23T18:38:05.567+02:002021-08-23T18:38:05.567+02:00Very interesting Mandy nice write up again, love al...Very interesting Mandy nice write up again, love all the pots.
